Brundibar – the title of an opera that was presented by children for children in the Theresienstadt concentration camp. Most of the participants and the composer Hans Krasa were killed in Auschwitz. Forty years later the Freiburg nun Maria Veronika rediscovered Brundibar. Using a surviving piano score, she transcribed the notes for other instruments and a German libretto. And with 75 school girls she took the opera to Israel. In the audience were former prisoners from Theresienstadt. Sigrid Faltin portrays the story of the nun and the opera.
