La Gomera and Gran Canaria

The Columbus Islands

The Spanish Balearic and Canary Islands are well-known as popular tourist destinations. However, there are still some undiscovered spots with quaint inhabitants and wonderful natural beauty. This film portrays two of the most beautiful Canary islands.
Grand Canary island hosts idyllic beaches, wild mountains and breath-taking dunes. Despite mass tourism in the south of the island, there are still sleepy villages tucked away in valleys off the beaten track. The din and hectic pace have not yet reached La Gomera, Grand Canary island's little sister. Nature lovers in particular will find what they are looking for here. Instead of hotel high-rises there are enchanting forests, instead of entertainment centers lonely beaches, instead of rowdy tourists there are German back-to-landers - this is La Gomera.

We are looking for what is typical for and original to both islands. We show awe-inspiring nature, visit artists, designers and unusual craftsmen, relate the history of the original inhabitants - the Guanches, of course sample Canary specialities and don't neglect a good slug of Canary rum from the Arucas bottle.
The film is one of a 5 part series about the Spanish islands. The Balaeric and Canary islands, islands of happiness, will be filmed in the esthetic style of quality coffee table books and brought to life through the narration and friendly people.
